Richard W. Horn

Richard has invested in and joined The Stratford Companies to serve as Chairman of the Company. He sits on the Board of Managers and chairs the Investment Committee, which has a major role in site selection, procurement, and overall investment strategies. He also assists with the Company’s strategic direction and capital formation.
Richard also owns and operates Horn Properties, LLC, a developer of mixed-use commercial parks including the 60-acre MetroAir Business Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. Horn Properties also provides seed capital to start ups such as The Stratford Companies. Richard has also engaged in several land development transactions with national homebuilders such as Pulte, Beazer and Ryland Homes.
In 2000, Richard was named President of Duke Realty Corporation (NYSE:DRE), the largest office and industrial REIT in the U.S. As President, he oversaw the development, leasing, and investment of company-controlled properties in thirteen US cities comprised of over 110 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space with over $7 billion in assets. Mr. Horn began his career with Duke in 1984 as a leasing representative. In 1993, after the company went public, he served as a senior executive where he led Duke’s expansion into St. Louis, Chicago and Minneapolis; headed up all investments for the company; ran the Office Group Division; and served on the Company’s Investment and Executive Committees.
Richard received his Juris Doctorate, Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from Indiana University. He is a member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and the Carmel Dad’s Club.
