As the Company’s Chief Construction Officer, Steve provides project management and construction oversight for new Stratford facilities nationwide. He also sits on the Investment Committee.
He started his career working for the Veteran’s Administration Office of Construction as Resident Engineer Trainee and advanced to Senior Field Resident Engineer and Structural Designer where he was responsible for designing and supervising construction for selected V.A. healthcare projects nationwide.
Following his stint with the V.A., Steve was Project Manager, Executive Vice President and a minority owner of a large proprietary healthcare company. He was responsible for overall operations and managed the design and construction of healthcare and elderly care housing projects in forty states and sixteen foreign countries. He was also the principal in charge, and has been actively involved in over 600 healthcare projects worth in excess of $3 billion. He has lived and worked in Belgium and managed the design and construction of multiple healthcare projects in Europe and the Middle East.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Engineering from George Washington University. In addition, he attended the Army Engineer School in Advanced Engineering, is a retired Reservist with the U.S. Navy Seabees and holds the designation of Professional Engineer. Steve is also a member of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and the Williamson County Foster Parents Associations.
Steve recently retired as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations for the Atlantic
Seabees, both active and reserved, based out of Norfolk, Virginia. While in this position, he was responsible for the operations of over 8,000 troops both in the U.S. and worldwide.
